Join Ugly Guy Abroad in May for a 9 day, all inclusive trip to South Korea. 
The trip includes highlights of Hanbok wearing & temple visits, Korean food tours, shopping excursions, Korean baseball games, Karaoke like never before, local bar crawls, long beach walks all paired with non-stop catchy K-pop beats. 

Itinerary

Myeong-dong district in central Seoul where we will stay the first 5 days of the Korea tour.

Day One - Arrival Day
May 12, 2019

After a 10 hour flight across the international date line (losing one day), with a hint of jet lag the idea is to simply relax and get one's head around the fact that that you are actually in South Korea. 
Highlights of the day include:
​
  • Express train from Inchon International airport to Seoul and Check-in at Myeong-Dong hotel. 
  • Relax and enjoy the evening at the Hotel.
  • Optional street food tour at Myeong-Dong shopping district.  



Day Two - Jung (Middle) District
May 13, 2019

Our first day of the tour will start in the heart of Seoul. Where the oldest parts of the city adjacent to the newest parts of the city can be found.
Highlights of the day include:

  • Exploring the Myeong-Dong shopping district.
  • Lite hike up to Namsan Seoul Tower. Enjoy the panoramic view of Seoul and partake in the lock lovelock tradition at the top of the mountain.
  • Evening in the buzzing international district, Itaewon.

Taking pictures in Hanbok at Gyeongbokgung with your girlfriend or boyfriend is quickly becoming a new Korean trend.

Day Three - Temple Day
May 14, 2019

Visiting the best temples Korea has to offer in traditional Korean clothes, makes for your best Instagram photo yet!
Highlights of the day include:

  • Rent traditional Korean clothes (Hanbok) and visit Gyeongbokgung.
  • Tour Changdeokgung and Bukchon Hanok Village.
  • Dinner and souvenir shopping in Insadong.





Day Four - Gangnam Baseball
May 15, 2019 

A dynamite team spirit squad loaded with cheerleaders, drummers and superheroes topped with out of this world competitive fan cheering creates a baseball experience like none other.
Other highlights of the day include:

  • Shopping in both Hongdae and Gangnam district.
  • Enjoy fried chicken (a staple food while watching Korean baseball) while watching an exhilarating baseball game.
  • Local bar tour in Konkuk University district.

Day Five - Seoul City & Food Tour
May 16, 2019

A day to see the many modern landmarks of the metropolis of Seoul, and experience its history through local food.
Highlights of the day include:

  • Visiting the war memorial of Korea.
  • Tour the Dongdaemun Design Plaza (Korea's Chicago bean).
  • Walk Seoullo 7017 and Namdaemun Market.
  • Korean food tour at Gwangjang Market.

Day Six - Fireworks on the Beach
May 17, 2019

After taking the 2.5-hour express train from Seoul to Korea's beach city of Busan (the San Francisco of Korea) the fun continues in the countries second largest city.
Highlights of the day include:

  • ​Morning express train to Busan. 
  • Check into Busan hotel.
  • Beach dinner, street performers, light shows, and fireworks on Gwangalli Beach, Busan's second largest beach.​

Dinner on Gwangalli beach while looking at the illuminated Gwangandaegyo bridge will be one of the best parts of the trip!

Day Seven - Busan Tour 
May 18, 2019

The coastal town of Busan has a totally different laidback atmosphere than that of its fast-paced counterpart, Seoul. 
Highlights of the day include:

  • Morning visit to Gamcheon Culture Village.
  • A trip up the Busan Tower.
  • Look around at Korea's famous Jagalchi Fish Market.
  • Evening dinner on Haeundae beach, Busan's largest beach.

Day Eight - Korean Karaoke
May 19, 2019

A trip to Korea wouldn't be complete without a Korean Karaoke session! So a night out at Korea's most well-known Karaoke houses in the dynamic district of Hongdae.  
Highlights of the day include:

  • Morning tour of Haedong Yonggungsa Temple.
  • Express train back to Seoul.
  • Check into Hongdae hotel.
  • Goodbye Korean Karaoke party in Hongdae's Luxury Su Noraebang.

Day Nine - Departure Day
May 20, 2019

After a great trip seeing all the highlights of Korea and phones full of killer pictures, our trip has unfortunately come to an end. And now we need to reluctantly board our plane back to Seattle, WA.

  • Train back to Inchon international airport.
  • Fly back to Seattle, WA

Kevin E. Simeon

Chief Exploration Officer (Head guide)

Mr. Simeon has studied internationally since 2014 and traveled to 17 countries and lived in three different nations by the age of 23, while simultaneously earning a Bachelor of Arts degree in Chinese Language & Asian Studies. Mr. Simeon speaks fluent Mandarin Chinese, moderately proficient in Korean, and beginning proficiency in Thai.

Mr. Simeon has a strong instruction experience and served as an English language teacher at Poly Education Institute in Seoul, South Korea. He also completed U.S. Peace Corps training as an ESL instructor and taught college level-classes at Chengdu Normal University in China.
