A Special thanks to my Bangladeshi brothers

Without the help of my amazing Bangladeshi friends: Zaneb, Bijoy, Shahaat, Nistar, Quazi, Mashrur, and Sakib just to name a few. Without the help of you guys my trip to beautiful Bangladesh would have been completely different. Thank you all for not only taking the time to show me your country but also taking in a new brother. Meeting and joining your families was a pleasure and was an act of kindness that I am still working on repaying today!
Until then thank you brothers and you all have a second home and family in America with your lifelong Couchsurfing friend.

Top 5 things to see and do in Bangladesh

1. Make local friends

Picture

A whole week of traveling though Dhaka, the capital city of Bangladesh with a population 7 million, I never once saw another foreigner.  So meeting my local Bangladeshi friends from Couchsurfing was something I am so happy to have done. They were all extremely inviting and showed me the local lifestyle. I even became apart of the "Dhaka Wolfpack"!
Without local friends traveling the county would be nearly impossible, and the experience wouldn't have been as special. So I can not stress it enough, have local friends in Bangladesh before visiting!

2. Visit the Lalbagh Fort

The vivid pink shades of the fortress paired with the nearby green garden  makes a perfect place for a picture enthusiast. It is completely sealed with high red walls, which provided a sort of peace from the fast paced big city life. This historical landmark is a place where one can wander freely and enjoy aromatic freshly planted flowers.

3. Look for Bengal Tigers in the Sundarbans

The Sundarbans get their name from a mangrove tree called "Sundari" which means beautiful. Beautiful is one of many things one might call the Sundarban forest. It is actually the worlds largest Mangrove forest and is home to the mighty Bengal tiger. The extremely remote forest has minimal human presence, which makes it a fairly difficult place to visit. If you're going make sure to dish out the extra cash to travel in a small group. You will be able to see more wildlife, and get the full experience of the cryptic Sundarban forest.

4. Visit the Cox Bazar

An unbroken sand beach spanning 77 miles (125km) is a dream destination for anybody who loves long walks on the beach. As the world's longest unbroken sand beach, the Cox Bazar is a natural world marvel that is unlike any other place on the planet. With 77 miles of sandy coast, it is easy to find your own private section of the beach to relax all to yourself.
The Cox Bazar is countries largest tourist attraction and it does not fail to disappoint with activities such as surfing, jet-skiing, hiking and I wouldn't be surprised if they even have horseback riding.

5. Sail the swamps of Sylhet

A five hour bus ride north from Dhaka will not only allow you to see much Bangladeshi countryside, but will eventually get you to the Northeastern town of Sylhet. A beautiful countryside town full of natural wonder completely off the beaten path just waiting to be explored! If you make it be ready to get some looks, because tourists don't often make it to this part of the county!
Like most places in Bangladesh this place can only be explored by taking a boat on one of the marvelous rivers or "super highways" of the country.
